We had a great time participating in the 8th annual Toronto Newcomer Day fair! It’s the first in-person event we participated in since the pandemic turned everything virtual.
The Toronto Newcomer Day’s goal is to welcome newcomers to Toronto, help them understand the wide range of services available in the city, and celebrate the diversity in Toronto. Other than the information booth from settlement services in the Greater Toronto Area, there were also performances and family-friendly activities to showcase the diverse cultures in Toronto.
The YMCA Immigrant Services programs were there to participate in the celebration. It was a cloudy and windy day, but everyone was so excited about the event, including us! Our brochures got blown away several times, and around midday, our stand-up banner got defeated by the wind. But it doesn’t matter because we had a great time meeting and chatting with people.
Thanks to those who visited our booth and shared a great conversation and laughter with us. You made our day meaningful!
See you at the next Toronto Newcomer Day!
