This is an online 4-week course designed to help international professionals to enhance personal and professional success by using effective means of formal and informal communication in the workplace. The Intro to Interpersonal Communication course is a part of the Workplace Communication in Canada (WCC) program offered by The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Toronto Metropolitan University.
The course will help participants to:
- Develop skills in active listening, empathy, giving and receiving constructive feedback, and writing effective formal communication documents
- Utilize strategies to effectively deal with conflict in the workplace
- Practice skills in writing formal documents such as emails, meeting minutes, and reports
Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a Recognition of completion Certificate from The Chang School at Toronto Metropolitan University
Eligibility Criteria:
- Be a Permanent Resident, Convention Refugee/Protected Person, or CUAET Pathway
- Be a member of the YMCA Newcomer Information Centre
- Have a minimum of CLB Level 6 on all four skills
- Be committed to complete the course
